Best Copper Knee Brace 2021 (An Actual Guide!)

April 22, 2021 By James Anderson Leave a Comment

Okay, if you’ve looking at the other guides out there on copper knee braces you’ll no doubt have noticed that they all basically just do the following:

  • List every product possible
  • Use meaningless numbers that make you think there’s some kind of ranking to them
  • Have “reviews” that are just rewritten product descriptions

I’m not going to pull that on you.

Instead, I’m going to give you what you came here for. We’ll dive into actual recommendations here based upon some considerations that are really worth knowing about. We’ll cover those first.

That being said, all the ones we recommend further down are summed up in this table below. If you do want to skip all the other talk and you just want to know which specific copper knee braces are currently the best to go for, then they’re all right here in one place for you.

ProductWhy Choose This One?
Copper Knee Brace by Jiufentian
Really well made compared to the vast majority of the others out there.

You can even see on the Amazon reviews that people swear by the quality of this one.

No scratchy wires or awkward fits.

Check the latest price on Amazon.
Double Couple 2 Pack Copper Knee Brace
A pack of two for roughly the same price as our main recommendation above, which basically makes it half the price if you’re looking for getting a set of two.

The quality isn’t quite as sleek as the other one, as you’d expect for it being essentially half price, but it’s still a much more comfortable one than the other options out there, and it actually uses a good amount of copper, as you can see.

Check the latest price on Amazon.

First of all though, there’s something we’ve got to clear up here.

The Truth About Copper Knee Braces

You see, there’s a lot of misinformation out there about what copper knee braces are actually good for.

Almost all of them market themselves as being able to do the following:

  • Improve circulation / boost blood flow / oxygenation of muscles
  • Reduce pain / soreness
  • Reduce muscle stiffness

However, none of this is true. All of these have been proven false countless times when put to the test. Here’s a some studies if you’re interested in hearing more about that:

  1. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24066023/https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24066023/
  2. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19942103/

However, that doesn’t mean that copper is useless. In fact, it’s fantastic for other reasons.

The main thing to note about copper is that it’s actually able to rapidly kill bacteria, yeasts and viruses on contact. The phrase “contact killing” was even coined to describe that process. Again, here’s some science if you’re interested in it:

  1. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3067274/
  2. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15345689/

What this means is that it’s extremely effective for odor removal in a knee brace, since the odor-causing bacteria are killed, as well as for preventing yeast infections and keeping the outside of wounds clean. That means it helps prevent them from becoming infected after you’ve cleaned them properly.

The second thing that copper does really well is act as a “stiffener” for the knee brace. As you can imagine, copper thread makes the knee brace much better for support than a simple nylon knee brace could ever achieve.

The Best Copper Knee Braces

Again, we’re going to be honest here. The vast majority of them available are almost exactly the same. Often mystery brands too.

As in, they’re sold under a whole bunch of different names, so you can only really identify them by what they look like, or if you are directly shown a link to one.

That’s what we’ll do here. Starting with this one:

The Best Overall Copper Knee Brace

Check Price

Why this one? Because although it’s very similar to many others, it’s actually comfortable, unlike a lot of the others. People swear by it, as you can clearly see in the Amazon reviews. For whatever reason, the manufacturer of this design simply made it a cut above the rest in terms of design and build quality. That’s for certain.

On a related note, another thing is that a real issue with a whole bunch of copper knee braces out there is that the copper “thread” can easily poke out and get scratchy. We say “thread,” because it’s metal, so it’s basically a really thin wire.

From knowing that alone you can imagine why you’d want to avoid one where the wire is known to stick out due to it not being made carefully enough to deal with the stretchy nature of nylon. This one doesn’t have that problem.

Now, if you were wondering about whether one with gel pads is worth it, the answer is that we don’t recommend going for the “gel pad version” of that one, because it’s almost like the gel pads are just awkwardly added on instead of being thoughtfully incorporated into the design.

In fact, none of the copper knee braces out there that have gel pads are any good. They always seem ruin the fit of the knee brace, unfortunately.

Budget Option

Lastly, if you’re looking for a budget option when you’re looking to get a pair of them, then this one is a surprisingly good deal.

They’re not quite as neat as the main one we recommended above, but they’re practically half the price each since you get two of them.

And that’s it. There’s really none others we recommend right now. If by this point you’re not sold on the whole copper thing and you just want a good normal knee brace, then we recommend this NEENCA one for sure.

It actually has gel pads that are designed with the fit, unlike any of the copper ones.

We’ll not put that NEENCA one in a big box with a picture here because we don’t want to confuse anyone who clicks through and doesn’t realize it’s not a copper one. You can click here to see it on Amazon if you’re interested.

We hope this list of the best copper knee braces has been helpful.

If there’s anything good that you think we’ve missed, or if you have any questions about anything, then let us know down in the comments below.
