Best Power Rack with Lat Pulldown (Large Max Capacity): Papa Babe Power Tower with Lat Pull Down

Best Power Rack with Lat Pulldown (Large Max Capacity)

Papa Babe Power Tower with Lat Pull Down

The creme de la creme of power towers the Papababe has a whopping 1200lbs real weight capacity which is over 20% more than I have seen any other tower available on amazon. It’s a must for any serious lifter and the lat pulldown is a hefty 400lbs that’s only 100lbs shy of a world record weight. The steel construction not only provides a great weight capacity but also makes the tower sturdy which is a common issue as other towers tend to rock or sway.

Best Budget Power Rack with Lat Pulldown

Fitness Reality 810XLT Super Max Power Cage

The Fitness Reality 801XLT often goes on sale and is a great budget purchase with or without the lat pulldown. It’s best to do the math and see if it’s cheaper to grab the lat pulldown separately. The cage is always well priced and usually in the $300 dollars range. The Fitness reality is also sturdy due to safety bars being complete metal instead of hollow like you see on cheaper towers.

Fitness reality products come with a 1 year warranty.

Best Lat Pulldown Power Cage Attachment

Fitness Reality X-Class Light Lat Pulldown Attachment

If you already have a power cage and you are looking for a lat machine attachment then you can’t go wrong with the Fitness Reality X Class. Due to the nature of the moving parts on the pulleys lat pulldowns can wear away quick that’s why you want to choose a good warranty. This pulldown comes with 10 years for the frame, 3 years on parts and 2 years for wearable parts.

The lat pull down might not have the highest weight capacity at 360lbs but unless you’re going for world champion status, you won’t need it and the warranty will serve you better.

Best Attachable Lat Pulldown: Fitness Lat & Lift Pulley System

Best Attachable Lat Pulldown

Fitness Lat & Lift Pulley System

If your power cage is tight on space then you might consider one of the more compact attachable lat pulley systems. These are simple to use and just clip onto your cage. The Fitness Lat pulldown can hold a max weight of 330lb which is only 30lbs less than most machine attachments and at only quarter of the price.

The downside is the life cycle of these is much shorter than the machines and you might find yourself purchasing another after a few years.

Power Rack with Lat Pulldowns We Absolutely Don’t Recommend

Pellor Fitness Lat Pulley System

The Pellor has a similar design to the fitness but with a couple of gripes. The cable is too long for starters which makes the weight swing and the handle is just cheap and awful to hold. One to avoid.

Hulkfit Lat Pulldown Attachment

This attachment breaks after 1-2 months of use and one of the most cheaply poor constructed attachments I have seen. I wouldn’t even recommend this to someone I hate. Avoid at all costs.

Xmark Lat & Low Row Cable Machine

Another cheap wobbly machine full of false reviews on amazon. The machine itself just doesn’t stand upright on flat ground and is a danger to any one using it.

What We Think of Some Other Power Rack with Lat Pulldowns Available

Vanswe Lat Pulldown Power Cage

While it didn’t quite make our top spot the Vanswe is still a great cage and worth getting on sale or if the Papababe is out of stock.

It also features a 10 year warranty which is always something to consider when purchasing home gym equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should you go heavy on lat pulldown?

If you are a beginner to lat pulldowns it’s better to go light and practice your form similar to rowing. After that, you need to decide if you want to look chiseled or build strength. If you want to build strength go for heavyweights and moderate weights to get the chiseled look. Be careful if you choose heavy as this is more likely to lead to injuries.

What should I look for when buying a power rack?

When picking a power rack its important to keep in mind the max weight capacity if you are looking to fill it out with various attachments. The safety of the rack is also important as alot of racks and wobble which is a big red flag.

Do I need to bolt down my power rack?

While not all racks need to be secured to the grown due to the weight of them we always recommend it due to safety concerns.

Can you keep a power rack outside?

Power racks can be left outside but should be covered or preventions are taken so the rack won’t rust. A good preventative measure is a good coat of paint.
