When wearing rock climbing shoes most climbers chose not to wear socks in order to reduce the material between the foot and the rock, this allows for a tighter fit and more feeling to allow for precise footwork which will give the better grip needed at the harder grades, the downside of all this is it may leave your rock climbing shoes with an undesirable smell.
Should You Wear Socks with Rock Climbing Shoes?
While the majority of climbers tend to not wear socks there is a small population that prefers wearing socks with their rock climbing shoes, both options are perfectly fine as you will always climb better the more comfortable you are so don’t force yourself not to wear socks.
