Trailer Scratching Boat? (Advice and Suggestions)

April 22, 2021 By James Anderson Leave a Comment

Perhaps the most frustrating thing ever is the moment you realize that your boat is getting scratched from the trailer, even though it doesn’t look like there could be anything on the trailer to scratch it.

It’s also unlikely that you’re loading it wrong if you’re not doing something strange like using a ramp that’s too steep. The unfortunate truth is that some trailers just do cause scratches no matter what you do.

The solution is simple. A boat trailer bunk carpet is low-cost way to get that buffer between your trailer and your boat that you need.

They’re really easy to install. They’re just stapled onto your existing boat trailer, and that’s it. If you’ve got one that’s durable like they should be, then the job’s done.

Better than buying a whole new trailer anyway. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” they say. All you really need is to stop your boat trailer from rubbing or gouging the bottom of the hull.

So, it’s worth taking a little look here at our guide to the best boat trailer bunk carpets. Hope it’ll be helpful to you all.

For anything else, let us know down in the comments below if you have anything to add.

Stay non-scratchy.
